AndersAnders Hammer Strømman (Project Manager)

Professor Anders Strømman has a Ph.D in industrial ecology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He has been teaching courses in area of environmental system analysis since 2006 and is the manager of the LCA laboratory at NTNU. Strømman is recipient of the prestigious Robert A. Laudise Medal in 2011 in recognition for his outstanding contributions to the field of industrial ecology. He manages several industry, NFR and EU funded projects. He is actively involved in international research collaborations and organizations. He is the contributing author to the IPCC fifth assessment report.


EdgarEdgar Hertwich

Professor Edgar Hertwich has been the director of the Industrial Ecology Programme since August 2003. He is a member of the UNEP Panel for Sustainable Resource Management, where he leads the working group on the environmental impacts of products and materials. He contributed to the Global Energy Assessment report and is also contributing to the IPCC fifth assessment report as a lead author of energy systems chapter. Hertwich is recipient of the Laudise Prize for research in Industrial Ecology by a scientist under 35 years of age, awarded by the International Society for Industrial Ecology (ISIE) in 2003. He is a member of the editorial board of Environmental Science and Technology, Journal of Industrial Ecology and Journal of Economic structure. He leads industry funded and EU funded projects. Professor Hertwich has a Ph.D. in energy and resources from the University of California, Berkeley. Hertwich has worked in the areas of hybrid life-cycle assessment, eco-industrial parks, sustainable consumption and production, pollution and trade, and multimedia fate modeling and risk analysis of toxic pollutants.

AndreaAndrea Ramírez (Deputy Project Manager)

Dr. Andrea Ramírez has degrees in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Colombia. She taught and worked as engineer/researcher at the Solid Waste Research Program (PIRS) at the same institution.  In 2000 Andrea obtained her Master  in Human Ecology at the Free University of Brussels (Belgium).  Andrea joined Kornelis Blok’s team in 2001 and four years later defended her Ph.D. dissertation on “Monitoring Energy Efficiency in the Food Industry”. Since May 2005 she has worked as senior researcher on CO2 sequestration and storage at U. Utrecht’s Copernicus Institute.

Nils Henrik Eldrup is an assistant professor at Telemark University College and Tel-Tek project Manager. and has extensive industrial experience in cost estimation. He is actively involved in international expert groups (IEA, ZEP) for CCS cost.
